Hello All STFF Fly Tyers,
Announcing the first STFF Open Fly Tying sessions.
On January 22nd from 6pm to 8+/-pm we will hold our first Open Fly Tying session at the clubhouse. This session is open to all STFF members with a basic knowledge of Fly Tying. There is no fee or preregistration required just come on down.
The format of the class will be to have a leader who will demonstrate tying the pattern and helpers to assist with whatever issues or questions attendees may have. The intent of these sessions is to make tiers more proficient in their tying skills and comfortable in tackling new patterns. Anyone wanting to improve the quality of their flies or address a recurring problem can come and get help or just come and practice.
We will be tying the Pheasant Tail Nymph and its variations. Attendees will need to bring their own tools and materials (some basic materials may be made available but its important for tiers to begin to build their individual inventory). The pattern sheet and tying instructions for this fly is shown below.
So, come and improve your tying skills and enjoy the camaraderie. No reservations needed.
