Meeting Place and Directions to Fishing Site: Boat launching ramp. Manzanita Lake, Lassen Park. Meet at the boat launching area at 9:00 am. Be prepared for any kind of weather, Manzanita Lake is 6000 feet in altitude. There is a $25 fee for entrance to the park unless you have a senior pass. Targeted Species: Rainbow & Brown Trout Wading, Floating, or Both: (Floating ) Watercraft: Float Tubes, Pontoon Boats, etc. Motors: Electric, Not Allowed Gas, Not Allowed Manzanita Lake has a launch area. Lunch: Bring your own lunch.
Recommended Gear Outfit Size: 4-6 Weight rods recommended. Line: Floating, Sinking intermediate, Sinktip (mostly floating) 5x-6x Leaders & tippet. Flies & Fishing method: Wet Flies: Prince Nymphs beaded and non beaded, size 14-16 Psycho Prince, Blue, Yellow, 14-16 Pheasant tail nymphs, 16-18 Black and Red Zebra midges, 16-20 Mercer Gidget, Green & Brown 16-18 Dry Flies: Parachute Adams, 14-16 Gnat, 16-18 Foam Ants & Beatles Try many different flies, the key is fairly small sizes. Additional Information: No fishing within 150 feet of creek inlet.
